Purchasing Officer

Our client is one of Queensland’s largest not-for-profit healthcare providers with over 10,000 staff across 11 hospitals, Mater delivers care to hundreds of thousands of patients each year, combining clinical services with research, education, and community support.

As a Purchasing Officer, you will support the efficient procurement of medical and operational supplies, ensuring quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. You’ll work within a mission-driven organisation committed to compassionate care and improving health outcomes across the community.

Hours: 7:30am - 4:06pm Monday to Friday on a temporary contract for 6 months

Key Responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Placing replenishment orders daily
• Reviewing back order reports to identify un-supplied products
• Working closely with vendors to ensure on-time supply
• Reviewing out-of-stocks
• Answering emails and phones via the central purchasing system
• Working closely with procurement managers

About You:

To be successful in this opportunity you will possess the following:

• Minimum 12 months experience in a similar role
• Experience in the healthcare sector is highly advantageous
• Professional, reliable, and customer-focused attitude
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of data accuracy
• Available Monday to Friday with full working rights
