Senior Software Engineer
Job Description
Overview
You will assist in protecting the organization’s information assets by monitoring security alerts, performing basic analyses, and supporting the implementation of protective measures. In this entry-level cyber security role, you will work closely with the security operations team to monitor network and system logs, investigate low-severity incidents, and help remediate vulnerabilities. You will contribute to the development of security policies and documentation, and continuously learn industry best practices to enhance your technical expertise. Your work will directly support the organization’s risk reduction efforts while you gain practical experience in a professional security environment. The role is designed for candidates with 0-1 years of experience, offering guided mentorship and opportunities to grow within the security function.
Responsibilities
Monitor security alerts and perform initial triage of potential incidents. Conduct basic vulnerability assessments and assist in applying patches or mitigations under supervision. Document incident findings, response actions, and contribute to security reporting for internal stakeholders. Support the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and awareness materials. Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to ensure security controls are correctly implemented. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to security alerts as part of the security operations team.
Policies
Standard work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, typically 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM with a one‑hour lunch break, subject to flexibility as required by project demands and in compliance with the Karnataka Shops and Establishments Act. Employees are entitled to a minimum of 12 days of paid annual leave after completing one year of service, plus statutory holidays as per the Karnataka Shops and Establishments Act, sick leave of up to 12 days per year with medical certification, and special leave for marriage, bereavement, and maternity/paternity as mandated by Indian labour law.
