Our client manufactures marine navigational aids, including marine lighting and buoys, supplying products used within the marine industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established manufacturing operation where quality, safety and reliability are key.

The Role
Working within the Injection Moulding Department, you will contribute to the efficient manufacture, assembly and supply of injection moulded products. You will be responsible for operating equipment safely and efficiently while ensuring products meet required quality standards and production targets.
Hours: 7:00am – 3:00pm
Pay Rate: $34.96 per hour
Location: Somerville
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Operating and setting injection moulding machinery
- Performing machine start-ups, shutdowns and mould changes
- Conducting safety checks and inspections on machinery, moulds and equipment
- Completing routine preventative maintenance, including lubrication and greasing
- Following production schedules and meeting required production targets
- Inspecting, packing and labelling finished products to quality standards
- Troubleshooting machine, tooling and process issues
- Assisting with machine breakdowns and production issues
- Handling materials and supporting efficient production processes
- Completing production orders, checklists and manufacturing documentation
- Assisting with basic tooling repairs and insert changes where required
- Supporting the Rotational Moulding and Toolroom departments when required
About You
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience setting and operating injection moulding machines in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with machine start-ups, mould changes and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of plastics materials, processing parameters and common moulding defects
- Experience operating automated manufacturing equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
Highly regarded but not essential:
- Experience operating Arburg injection moulding machines
- Forklift Licence
- Experience operating overhead cranes or hoists
- Tooling and preventative maintenance experience
