As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines. You will be responsible for performing planned and reactive maintenance on high-speed packaging and processing equipment, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimise efficiency and minimise downtime.

The Role

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and rapid breakdown response on food processing and packaging lines.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including PLCs, motors, drives, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Ensure compliance with BRC food hygiene standards, HACCP principles, and safety regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects and conduct root-cause analysis to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support machine upgrades, line modifications, and new equipment installations.

The Person

  • Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 / HNC in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in food manufacturing, beverage, or FMCG sectors.
  • Strong fault-finding skills with solid multi-skilled capabilities; 18th Edition qualification is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of food safety guidelines and cleanroom standard practices.
  • Hardworking and friendly with a proactive mindset and strong communication skills.
