We're seeking a Finance Officer to join a collaborative finance team supporting residential aged care services. This is an opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a role that directly contributes to positive outcomes for residents, families and the wider community.
About the Role
As the Finance Officer, you'll play a key role in managing resident accounts, aged care billing, government funding reconciliations and accounts receivable processes. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, residents and families to ensure accurate financial management and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage resident admissions, discharges and billing adjustments.
- Monitor outstanding resident fees, government subsidies and debtor accounts.
- Reconcile resident accounts, accommodation payments and RAD/DAP balances.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and account queries.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and assist with reporting activities.
- Liaise with Services Australia, residents, families and internal stakeholders.
- Support audits, compliance activities and process improvement initiatives.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll bring a combination of technical accounting knowledge, strong attention to detail and excellent relationship-building skills.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) within the Residential Aged Care sector
- Working knowledge of RADs and DAPSs in aged care services
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A customer-focused approach and professional telephone manner.
