What you'll do:
As Head of Supply Chain, you will be entrusted with overseeing every facet of the organisation’s supply chain operations from strategy creation through execution. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close partnership with senior management to align supply chain initiatives with broader business goals. - Lead downstream operations including demand planning, forecasting, procurement, and engagement with upstream supply points to guarantee smooth deployment of goods.
- Oversee logistics network design by managing physical flows such as transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and third-party logistics providers to maximise efficiency.
- Establish robust processes for researching, negotiating, maintaining, monitoring, and evaluating supplier relationships and contracts to secure reliable sources of quality goods and services.
- Drive customer service initiatives by managing the complete order-to-cash process, defining service packages, and fostering collaborative partnerships with customers to support mutual growth.
- Support commercial teams in executing route-to-market strategies by facilitating store expansion or distributor rationalisation as required by business needs.
- Set clear targets for lead times, inventory levels, logistics costs, and service standards while continuously monitoring performance against these goals to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Supervise all aspects of budget management related to supply chain activities by tracking costs, inventory levels, and resource allocation to prioritise spending effectively.
- Champion talent development within the function by coaching team members on both technical competencies and managerial skills to build a resilient pipeline of future leaders.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders as well as external partners across different geographies to drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes.
What you bring:
To excel as Head of Supply Chain you will bring extensive experience gained from diverse roles within supply chain or operations environments—ideally spanning planning functions through customer service delivery models right up to logistics oversight. Your background should include several years at senior management level where you have demonstrated not only technical proficiency but also empathetic leadership qualities that inspire trust among your team members. A deep appreciation for quality assurance processes coupled with crisis response know-how will enable you to navigate challenges confidently while safeguarding operational integrity. - A minimum of 10 years’ experience in supply chain or operations roles encompassing planning, customer service, logistics management, with proven people management responsibilities.
- At least 3 years spent in a senior management capacity demonstrating effective leadership within complex organisational structures.
- Demonstrated expertise in demand planning, customer service delivery models, logistics optimisation techniques, and quality-oriented process improvements.
- Comprehensive understanding of quality control principles as well as crisis management protocols and operational health & safety standards relevant to large-scale supply chains.
- Exceptional coaching abilities with a track record of nurturing talent at various levels within an organisation while modelling exemplary behaviour.
- Strong commercial acumen supported by advanced project management skills enabling effective prioritisation of tasks under tight deadlines.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement practices combined with familiarity in manufacturing technologies relevant to modern supply chains.
- Proven organisational skills allowing for seamless coordination of activities across multiple teams or departments including performance management oversight.
