A leading private hospital in West Dublin is seeking a professional and highly organised Medical Secretary to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about patient care, administrative excellence, and working within a busy specialist healthcare setting.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome and support patients and their families upon arrival to the Consultant Suite, ensuring a warm and professional experience.
  • Provide high-quality administrative support to Consultants and clinical teams.
  • Manage Consultant diaries, appointments, and clinical schedules.
  • Perform high-volume, high-accuracy dictation typing for letters and reports.
  • Maintain and update patient records with complete confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Handle all telephone and email communications professionally.
  • Process patient payments and complete daily banking/reconciliation.
  • Update and manage hospital systems such as Meditech and RIS/PACS.
  • Prepare, type, and issue clinical reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Ensure insurer documentation is completed accurately.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Healthcare Administration or Clinic Administration experience (MUST HAVE).
  • Strong dictation typing experience, this is a major requirement.
  • Previous experience in a medical, hospital, or clinical environment.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy administrative role.
  • Proficiency with patient information systems.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and customer service skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Experience using Meditech or RIS/PACS systems.
